For 21of21, GOOGLE SHOPPING and PAPER came together to break down some of the most memorable shopping moments of 2021 based on Google's trending search data. The hottest things this year are... things we lived through three decades ago, which is maybe why Google search interest for "reboot" was at an all time-high in July, and "90s outfit" reached an all-time high in October 2021, both in the US. Below, breakout, chart-topping rapper, singer and songwriter BIA brings the trend to life.

Remember the good ol’ days, when a fun night in consisted of monopolizing the phone to gab with your friends, and then curling up with a coveted favorite gel pen to fill out the latest personality quiz in your favorite teen magazine?

We sure do.

Nostalgia is unconditional: there is always something to reflect on. And, more times than not, looking back offers a brief respite from the toils of today. And toils we have — in abundance. A global pandemic, a planet in peril, leaders failing us in ways both large and small every day. No wonder we keep going back, from trends returning from the dead to shows getting rebooted left and right. But that’s the thing with nostalgia: there’s an unlimited supply.

In honor of Simpler Times, why not throw it back to the quiz-taking days of yore? Take this quiz to find out what your 2021 says about you! For most effective results, print it out and fill it out with a fluffy pen.

1. Your idea of a good time is:

A. Seeing where the night takes you! It’s always a good time when you’re with your tribe.

B. Trying something new. There’s never a dull moment when you’re around!

You’re the problem-solver and the charming intellectual that everyone loves to be around. You are literally the human version of a cup of chamomile tea.

There are introverts. And then there’s you. You’ve been absolutely thriving: you’ve created a spreadsheet for your plants’ watering schedule; you’ve become fluent in Russian; and you’ve become an active member of an online encyclopaedia community, starting with filling in some holes for the entry for Stonehenge. You were born to isolate.
